Escape Simulator 2 v20448 Mac
Escape Simulator 2 is the sequel to Pine Studio’s best-selling first-person escape room game, and build v20448 is the latest update to one of the most actively maintained puzzle games available on Mac. Released originally on October 27, 2025, Escape Simulator 2 has received a steady stream of patches since launch, with v20448 continuing that trend.
What is Escape Simulator 2?
Escape Simulator 2 is a first-person puzzle game where you explore highly interactive escape rooms, picking up, inspecting, and manipulating objects to find your way out. It can be played solo or in online co-op with friends, and every room is packed with interconnected puzzles that reward careful observation and lateral thinking. The sequel brings significantly improved graphics over the original, more immersive environments, and a wider variety of room themes and puzzle mechanics.
A key part of what keeps the game fresh is the Room Editor a built-in tool that lets players design and publish their own escape rooms for the community to play. The editor supports Lua scripting, custom props, and complex logic networks, and thousands of community rooms are already available. Pine Studio has been actively improving the Room Editor with every patch since launch, acknowledging it is still maturing and that complex community rooms can occasionally affect saves or drop-in multiplayer.
Post-Launch Update History
Pine Studio has maintained a consistent and responsive update cadence since release. Early patches focused on stability, Room Editor improvements, and fixes for community room compatibility issues with Lua scripts and large logic networks. The November 2025 hotfix improved drop-in multiplayer stability and cleaned up level issues. Through early 2026, updates have continued targeting Room Editor reliability, multiplayer improvements, and general performance all driven heavily by community bug reports and feedback submitted with videos and reproduction steps.
Build v20448 continues this maintenance track, keeping the game stable and well-optimized for Mac players.
Mac Support
Escape Simulator 2 runs on macOS via Steam and is available on Mac, Windows, and Linux. It is priced at $19.99 on Steam, with the original Escape Simulator also available separately. Both games support Family Sharing.
