Nova Roma v0.7.2011 for Mac
In this city-building game, you can build a great Rome with your own hands. Appease the gods, enact laws, and establish supplies to provide your citizens with everything they need.
The once-great Roman Empire has fallen into decline. Lead a group of citizens to new lands to build Nova Roma—New Rome—a bastion of all that the empire once stood for. At first, you’ll have only a humble village. Appease the gods by constructing magnificent temples, provide your citizens with everything they need, and build a society that will become a model for the world for the next thousand years.
A wise city planner knows how to make the most of the land they’ve been given. Build dams and aqueducts to divert rivers into artificial reservoirs, but be careful: overzealous construction can negatively impact soil fertility, while poor irrigation can lead to flooding during particularly rainy periods. Find resource-rich areas and develop infrastructure to transport raw materials and processed materials across vast, undeveloped territories. Will you be able to find the delicate balance that will allow your city to grow at the right pace, or will you incur the wrath of the gods and nature itself?
As the population grows, so will the citizens’ needs, not only for bread and wine, but also for entertainment. You will be responsible for the happiness and safety of your people. Train gladiators, artisans, and actors, and watch as they spend their days working and their nights reveling.
When considering taxation and technological development for your growing city, don’t forget about the higher powers: build magnificent temples to the gods to avoid their wrath and earn their favor for this will expand your opportunities and ensure the city’s long-term prosperity.
Nova Roma invites you to immerse yourself in the cultural and social challenges of a large city, taking into account the landscape, hydrodynamics, weather conditions, and the constant threat of divine intervention. What’s New
Steam hasn’t posted separate patch notes specifically for 0.7.2011, but this build includes the changes from Update #12, the most recent major patch:
- Logistics route restoration: rebuilt buildings can now restore their previous logistic routes instead of needing to be reconfigured from scratch.
- Experimental pre-populated goods targets: the game can now suggest a reasonable starting amount for logistical goods quotas.
Earlier patches in the same update cycle (#9–#11) included a reworked, more distinct marble icon, improved troop pathfinding around water and bridges, a notification log entry for citizens dying of old age, adjusted god-anger cooldowns, and giving marble quarries their own job category separate from stone quarries.
